A ProClassic VetteRod is an early Corvette that has been modified or improved with the addition of aftermarket or late model components and accessories designed to enhance the look or performance of the original model. These fully modified, custom built, corvettes (often referred to as Retro-mod, retro-rod, vette-mod, and vette-rod) use modern Corvette driven train, suspension, and brake components to improve ride, handling, braking, and comfort while retaining the integrity of the original design. They use late-model Corvette EFI engines and computer systems but seldom include major body modifications. The objective is to combine the best elements of the classic styling with the latest mechanical and electronic components.
